Education & Work
YCAL works with businesses and schools to provide career education, relevant academic experiences, and work based experiences for educators and students in York County. YCAL understands the important role that educators have in the success of our future workforce. With that in mind, the following programs are available to York County educators:
Career Education and Work Standards Symposium
This event is focused on the Career Education and Work Standards, Pennsylvania’s academic standards, which include Career Awareness and Preparation; Career Acquisition; Career Retention and Advancement; and Entrepreneurship.
This program provides educators with access to capital to implement classroom innovation regarding career exploration and awareness in the form of seed money grants, up to $1,000 each.
Educator in the Workplace
This program is a one-week course where educators venture into the business environment to observe and experience some of the same demands and responsibilities that employers will place on future graduates.
School Directors’ Dinner
This program recognizes school board members for their years of service and share York County student successes. YCAL utilizes the opportunity to interact with our local school directors and highlight at least one YCAL program to showcase.
